What is the Cost of LASIK?

Seems like there is a lot of smoke and mirrors with the cost of LASIK.  Is it custom lasik, lasek, LASIK, PRK, laser vision correction?  OK.  Let’s quickly cut through the alphabet soup.  LASIK is lasik is laser assisted in-situ keratomileusis.  PRK is different but is also laser vision correction.  Results are virtually identical and there are arguments that it is SAFER.  So if cost is your primary objective, name the price of your vision and we will direct you at a center that can help.  It is important to realize that the average cost of LASIK is about $2000/eye.  If you are willing to have PRK on a NIDEK laser, or have a minor prescription, you can be treated for $1000 for both eyes.  You may have to travel, you should expect to spend more money for medications and follow up care if you live some distance from the treating surgeon.  Typical follow up for PRK is 1 day, 3-5 days later and at one month.  For LASIK, one day, one week and one month and as indicated.  Make sure the treating doctor examines you and has a very low retreatment rate or you are looking at more expenses.  Fill out the contact form for more info or to let us know what you are willing to pay for vision correction.  Also, with financing, LASIK can run as little as $1/day/eye!
